Quick Setup Guide for FlexId Dongle =================================== Installing hardware ------------------- Download the driver from: http://www.programmingresearch.com/downloads/Windows/FLEXlm/FLEXidInstaller.exe Insert the dongle: if your computer comes up with the Found New Hardware Wizard, cancel it. Run the FlexidInstaller.exe program to install the driver, select only the FLEXid 9 driver. Leave the dongle plugged in. Set up Flexlm ------------- Start->Programs->PRQA->lmtools Click the Config Services Tab Enter a service name - eg 'flex dongle Browse to the lmgrd.exe file (usually in C:\Program Files\PRQA\FLEXlm-9.5\lmgrd.exe) Browse to the license file for the dongle. You can tell these from the other licences from the HOSTID=FLEXID=xxx in the FEATURE lines of the license file. The xxx should be the ID on the dongle - starts with 9- Browse to a debug log file. Click Use Services and Start Server at Power Up and then Save Service. Click Service/License File tab Click Configuration Using Services and highlight the service name Click Start/Stop/Reread tab Click Start Server The status bar should say the serice has started: you can check this by viewing the log on the Config Services tab. To force flexlm to ask us where to look for the license we need to delete the registry key that stores the license server. Start->Run-> enter regedit ->OK Browse to the following location: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FLEXlm License Manager Delete the PRFLEXD_LICENSE_FILE entry by right-clicking it and selecting delete Start QAC or QAC++: when the FLEXlm License Finder starts, select Specify the License Server, then click Next.
